Congratulations to Leah Neumann for qualifying for the State Elks Hoop Shoot Contest! The Elks Hoop Shoot is a prestigious national free-throw competition, and Leah has earned her place among the best.
Leah, a 3rd grader in Mrs. Murphy's class, is the daughter of Sara and Robert Neumann. She recently secured her spot at the state level after an impressive run, winning three consecutive Elks Hoop Shoot contests. Leah began her journey by winning the school competition, which advanced her to the local Hoop Shoot Contest at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. From there, she competed at and won the Regional Contest in Creston, IA, earning her place in the State Competition in Ottumwa, IA, on February 8, 2025.
The winner of the state competition will move on to the National Finals in Chicago, IL, where they will compete against top athletes from across the country.
Best of luck in Ottumwa!
