Saturday October 3rd, the Underwood High School and Middle school band traveled to Clarinda for their opening competition. The High School marching band under the direction of Senior Drum Major Alaina Rogers and Junior Drum Major Kelsey Sorlien were awarded first place in both the parade and field competitions. This is the first time the Underwood band has ever taken home first place in both events.
The middle school marching band under the keen direction of 8th grader Beth Gunderson took home the 2nd place trophy in the middle school Class I division. This is the highest place the middle school has earned since they began marching at Clarinda in 2007.
The band would like to thank the community for all of its support. (Photos by Katelyn Larsen)
Congratulations Underwood!
