JAZZ BAND
Jazz band is available for all students through audition only and instrumentation is at the discretion of the director. All students must be members of the concert/marching band program in order to audition. Rehearsal is held before school. The group is quite active throughout the year in various competitions and contests. The Jazz Band competes in 4-5 contests each year and participates in several concerts during the year. Auditions for this group are held during dead week following the state marching competition. Rules regarding attendance, tardiness to rehearsal and performance are established each year and followed closely. Students in jazz band must be present at all rehearsals and competitions. Rehearsals can only be missed with prior notice and permission from the band director. Competitions should be noted on calendars and scheduled around.
Dress for jazz band:
Women – Black Concert Attire, black shoes and socks.
Men – Black Concert Attire, black shoes and socks.
