On Tuesday, March 16, five UMS sixth graders were selected to participate at Iowa Western's sixth grade math day. Team participants were: Alec Leaders, Marshall Rasmussen, Adam Tweed, Cole Martin, and James Groenjes. Students took five individual tests on topics that included: estimation, patterns and functions, geometry, statistics, and ratios. Students teamed up to take a sixth test that was a combination of all of those subject areas. The competition included 28 teams from surrounding areas with over 120 total participants. Congratulations to all 5 with a special congratulations to Alec Leaders for placing in the top 25! Special thanks to Bob Martin for going along and helping at the competition.
